MY CARS

I bought my '90 Nissan 240sx coupe back in Sept. 2008. She was the love of my life, haha, and i named her "Coco Luscious Lips", i then proceeded to learn to drift with Mike and my poor single cam soon blew. I soon found a dual cam at the JY and for about $400 i got a dual cam with ~35k miles, dualcam harness conversion, tranny, and ecu. I was hot shit after that!

Soon did small upgrades; PBM coils, ebay ruca's, q45 brakes, 330mm white steering wheel, and little other things

I was having fun one night snow sliding and then started to doing stupid thing and ended up doing this

Bent and broke lots of stuff..but fixed it that night with help from Mike.

so she went thru a non-low phase till i saved enough to buy the new coilover bracket

A few months later i ended up with a cool opportunity. Mike needed to get rid of his coupe shell, and ended up giving it to me, along with other little parts,

and a friend Ralph ended up giving me an engine, and as soon as i noticed, i had pretty much all the parts i needed to put together a

track car with KA-T set up.

So i've started work on "white thunda"

I have pretty much all the drivetrain, suspension and engine parts except for an intercooler kit, and small things.

So far i got a turbo kit from Mike, pbm suspension from Coco, bucket seat in the mail, and exedy clutch in the mail.

Should be up and running by July event.

INTRO

Hello all, my name is Julien Roskam. But people call me all kinds of variations..Anyways i love drifting! Thanks to meeting a cool guy at the junkyard(mike) I've come so far into drifting that i never imagined I would be where I am about two years ago. Moving on, I was a senior, and i plan on having a baller ass summer before I go off to school at MO S&T in Rolla, MO.

I was glad to graduate, finally out!!MMy first drift event driving was this year, but last year i helped all season with videos/pics and flagging the drivers. So many good memories from '09...

Anyways, i love drifting, cars, girls, having fun and will update this blog with my car/life stories!

Goodness JZX100 chasers are by far the hottest daily ever and god knows what I'd do for one, aside from that check out the gangster Gloria along with Fumiaki Komatsu of D2 Motorworks Osaka absolutely killing it in his 1996 180. Japan you suck.

Tsukuba Drift!

This is such a fun to watch video in all it's raw, gritty, goodness. Tsukuba is such an awesome track, I can only hope to see it some day. By the way only the middle of the video is Tsukuba, but the whole video is so good.

The Paddiest Pad

I've been moving around a lot in the last year, but just got settled in with Bryan and Derek back in March. It's a pretty awesome place, my room is small but works for sure. House is spacious and the best part is the two car garage that is taken full advantage of.

The next event is only 1 week away, so Derek is rushing to get the finishing touches put on Whitey. Can't wait to see those of you that are coming out at the event.

Round 2 WOOT!

Hey everyone, just a couple of updates for ya'll.

First, the coolest thing to ever happen in Kansas is happening in 9 days. If your cars aren't ready, get them ready, you don't want to miss out.

Second, we need approximately 2-3 More Video cameras that can shoot in at least 720p. (If you have one and would like to help out, please send me a pm.)

Third, if you have preregistered or are going to, [color=#FF0000]PRINT OFF YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER[/color], because sometimes it doesn't go through with HPT. If you dont have it, there may some complications that we'd like to avoid.

Kansas Yeah! Round 1

This is just a short video of our first event for 2010. KY round 1 '10 ended up being a really fun event, at first it didn't look like very many drivers would show, but we ended up having several guys come out and it made for a really good time. This is just a video that Seth, Bryan, Derek, and myself made. It was tossed together in a couple hours but shows what a fun time our events were. If you weren't here for this event then you are definitely missing out and should come on June 12th because it is gearing up to be one of the biggest events to date.

The Office/ Shop

So this is my Shop/ Office space where all the work will be done on Roosty, it's not much as it is only a 10x20 storage bay, but it has electricity and enough room for most of my stuff so it does the trick quite wellI love coming here and working right now as this place just yells productivity to me and get's my motivation way up. We'll see if the changed when sub zero winter temps roll around though. I can't say I'm looking forward to that at all.

Yes Flash, is such a beater haha, she makes me just chuckle some times thinking about how shitty she is, but she still keeps putting along. I have know idea how she is still going and thinking of all our ridiculous memories together is pretty cool as well.

Of coarse you can't work on a car very efficiently without the proper drift build diet of Super JDM mexican food, and $1.50 gallon of water.

I suppose a few tools might help as well if you don't feel like being a badass and breaking stuff loose with your bare hands.

Finally Getting Real Again.

Well after a couple of very interesting days I am back home and decided to update everyone on what I am doing build wise. Enter "The Rooster" who will be known as Roosty. I have had this car since February, and i picked it up from the super awesome David Martin who gave it the name the Rooster. He owned it for a few years and has to change routes in his life and so I bought it off him. However once a car has a name it can't be changed in my book, so that is why we will nickname him Roosty.

So this is Roosty, my 1992 240sx HB. I got it with a running s13 SR really to be drivable with hardly any work. I wanted to refresh some stuff however, along with a lot of footwork and bracing items, as well as some stuff to help the motor breath and respond better. So The other day I began the tear down process of the build. I forgot to take pics until i was already done with a good part of it but oh well. So I set a big list of stuff to do for the day but I didn't get started until about 4:30 or so.

I just started with disassembling all of the exterior body panels and then I moved on to the taking out all that was inside the car. After that I moved onto removing the engine wiring harness and prepping the engine for removal. After the above items were done I came a stopping point because i couldn't remove the chassis wiring without labeling everything and the stores were already closed so that I couldn't go and get tape. So that's about it for day one.

Loves of my life

Awe October of 2006, one the best days of my life, I finally got my S14, I had worked everyday for about 6 months to get it and finally got it. The picture above was taken on the day

I got it, a 1996 240sx, this boys dream car at the time. Pristine with only 86,000 miles on it. I didn't even care that it was automatic because I just wanted to drive it. The day I got my license I drove home and dropped my books off and when out driving for 6 hours. I found an unlocked storage complex and nearly burnt off my rear tires determined to learn how to drift.

After that day my 2 year long relationship took off and this poor car faced the brunt of my stupidity time and time again. But it helped my learn a lot. I still wish to this day that I would've had that car later in life because it was perfect and i destroyed, but such is life.

After parting out my S14 out of mere stupidity that I still regret =(, I got flash in March of '08. I was in desperate need of a car after wrecking my 14 and barley had any money. So I found this 1993 red 180sx that I named flash. When I found her she had thrown a rod threw the block, so I took the motor out of my 14 and drop-

ped it in with the help of a friend. I then drove her 1600 miles to FL a week later to visit all summer, Congo, Brice, I went out to revisit the spots we used to wreak havoc on in the S14. I then drove back to KC. Flash is still going strong and is the local Kansas Yeah! truck when we don't have one. She makes a good time for the snow rally me and the local guys fooled around with past winter. She's my faithful little daily beater and an awesome car at that.

Wow. Where do I start with this car ha. The Grey Goose, known as GG is probably the car I loved and miss the most. I only owned her from December of '08 to July of '09 when I wrecked her really bad on our local touge with Julian. This was the first 5 speed car I'd had and within two months of owning here i had her slammed on coils(another first), along with a new clutch, and a viscous diff(first one as well). This car was all sorts of firsts for me, and I still love her to death! I gained so much knowledge for the 6 months I

drove this car. So many memories made and fun times, god i miss this car ha. Brice and Congo came up from FL to hang out and see Kansas City and I just got the car going the day they got here. We broke the clutch in the first 500 miles the day they were here. Then proceeded to put some dings in it as Brice took some crazy awesome photos for me.

"THE" HOES

I grew up with Brice, Congo, and Josh in West Palm Beach but then I had to move junior year of high school. All three of us were crazy about our cars or the ones we were going to get and hung out everyday shooting each other, wrecking go karts, and other stuff you wish you could have done. Probably the coolest whores ever.

After leaving WPB, I moved to the Kansas City area where I met some more rad dudes, Bryan, Derek, Dave, James, Josh, Jimmy, and Julien. I was unaware the Kansas even had a drift scene back in 2007, but that was because we didn't start having events here until June of '08.

I met Bryan, Derek, Dave, and James in September of '08 when I set up a little get

together. After that night I annoyed the crap out of Bryan and Derek for the next 6 months until I decided to stop asking so many questions =). Bryan and Derek started the drift scene here from scratch and have watched friends come and go while they have stuck to it. They started the local drift forum called kcda and also have a blog for their drift team called the metcalf coyotes.

In 2009 we all started hanging out and running events and such. We were really excited for the '09 season because Heartland Park had given us 5 events for that year. I graduated from high school on May 8th, the day of our first event,(which also happens to be Bryan's b-day, WOOT!) and was pretty excited to start the season. Throughout the season we met some really cool guys Josh, Julian, and Jimmy(tripple J attack), who are now helping us run events for this years drift season. My life has been surrounded by cool dudes that like the same stuff i do, so I'd say life is pretty awesome(though a little extra $ would be nice)

I have been known to breathe fire, own tornadoes at destroying bushes, play god with insects by restoring their lives, and rip cemented ladders out of concrete. However when I am not being a super badass and fucking stuff up I'm working to drift and drifting to live(yes I just used an uber cheezy ricer line =).
