Subframe installz!

So the other day Mike came over to help me install my modded subframe fitted with some awesome PBM riser bushings.
Needless to say, this thing is going to be STIFF. We had to hammer the subframe up so that it would go onto the studs under the car. It got really tight as we tightened all the arms but with open ended wrenches we got it done. Today i finally got her on the ground after installing the sway bar with poly bushings. Also installed taillights and cleaned up the nasty sticky glue on both doors with the help of my cool Cambodian friend, Channary, and later on i gave the car a good wash-down. To finish it up a pic of my new bucket seat-red w/carbon kevlar backing.

Mike was playing around with some bugs that had gotten inside the garage, and made friends with this one, hahah

Nothing can keep us apart! ...no homo...

cuddling with my cool new subframe

And here it is installed!

tight spaces between body and subframe...but stiff.

Take it Owff

So this afternoon I had a quick 1.5 hour break and headed up to the storage unit to drop the subframe. Once again I was surprised that it only took me this long, but I guess when you're thinking about listening to Justin Bieber while listening to The Faceless shit happens.
I will be prepping and sandblasting it along with a few other things up at a friends shop later this week. Thanks for checking in again.

Update WOO!

So my lousy excuse for not keeping this bog update was KY! round 2. I decided to try and take a little bit of responsibility off of Derek's shoulders so he could focus more on driving the event. So I was really busy and haven't been able to work on my car since.
Well, now the dust from Round 2 is mostly settled and I have been able to resume work on my car. Last night Julien came down to help and we were able to get a lot accomplished. After
downing some super jdm ucc coffee we started pulling the motor. I am pulling the motor out for several reasons, but the main one being because the cross member is bent and has to be replaced. So we've been doing so many engine pulls lately that it only ended up taking us about an hour to pull it out. I was pretty surprised because we were both taking our time and being
super organized, I guess we are just the most bad ass bad asses haha.
So after we got the motor out we moved it to the back of the storage unit and rolled the car back in. Roosty is now back on jackstands as I now have to dissemble all of the suspension for a refreshing and some added bracing. So stay tuned as I will hopefully be able to update this blog more quickly now.

PBM Subframe Risers

Finally got them in! ...after sitting in the freezer for about a week, hahah.

Surprisingly easier than i thought. Just freeze, apply grease, set in place, and smack it a few times with a hammer. Enjoy solidness:)

RECENT PROJECTS

So lately i decided to get into gear on the rear subframe for the white coupe, and with the Metcalf Coyotes' help, i was able to SPL my shit!
but first!, my hat!

Started by making cardboard templates, then traced the shapes on a piece of flat metal sheet, then cut them with an angle grinder, and bent and tacked the pieces into place. After that i went around each piece and put a bead down all around. Then i primed it, and painted it gold!! yes!, soon to be pressed in are PBM solid subframe risers:)

So the other night i'm on my way home from a friends, and all of a sudden something starts sparking/scraping under the car, and continues till i got home...i soon found this:Photobucket

Now the piping is probably at a maximum 1" at a certain point...being low comes with a price eh? I quick-fixed it with a wire hanger and need to find a cheap exhaust asap.

Today i got my clutch in... Only the was a problem...

The pressure plate was forsure an Exedy pp, but the clutch disk was not at all what i'd seen other 240's clutches look like. After a harrowing array of phone calls between the seller and the actual Exedy USA company, i made the correct assumption about the disk not being legit and was comfirmed by the guy at Exedy(even though the seller was so sure it was real Exedy, yeah, it wasnt). Sent the box back and will soon get my money back and not order again from cheap ebay sellers, haha, i've learned my lesson.
Funny thing was the pictures of clutch care on the box ^^^ :P

Also created this cluster for fun, i'm going to put it in the track car
